I’ve always thought a great producer knows a little bit about everything.

Not because you need to be the best at every part of the process, but because it helps to understand how all the pieces fit together. Enough creative to understand the idea, enough technical knowledge to know what it takes to pull off, and enough curiosity to ask the right questions when you don’t.

That’s probably why I’ve never been great at sticking to one lane. I got my start making music and DJing, which turned into throwing events, making videos, editing, and eventually producing. Somewhere along the way, being interested in a bunch of different things became pretty useful.

For me, producing is about bridging the gap between a good idea and actually making it real. Sometimes that means finding the right people, sometimes it’s solving a weird problem, and sometimes it’s knowing just enough about something to get everyone speaking the same language.

Outside of work, that curiosity doesn’t really turn off. I’m usually making music, cycling, hiking, lifting, traveling, or getting way too invested in learning something new.

I like figuring out how things work. Producing just happens to be where all of that comes together.
